Chapter Three: Pollywog

In the third episode of the second season of Stranger Things – Chapter Three: Pollywog – the situation in Hawkins becomes more dangerous than ever. We see the characters struggling to deal with the rapidly escalating supernatural events and the various threats that they face.

Dustin continues to keep Dart, the baby Demogorgon, as a pet, but as it grows and becomes more aggressive, he becomes increasingly concerned about its true nature. Meanwhile, Lucas and Max bond over a shared love for video games, but their friendship is tested when she appears to be hiding something from him.

Joyce, determined to get to the bottom of the strange vines she found in her home and in the pumpkin patch, goes to see a former classmate, Bob. Bob reveals that the vines are spreading and that he thinks they are connected to Hopper’s discovery of an underground tunnel system.

Hopper, meanwhile, is still being interrogated by the government agents from Hawkins Lab, who want to know everything he knows about Eleven. He manages to escape but is soon captured again.

Elsewhere, Will continues to have visions of the Upside Down, and Mike struggles with missing Eleven. Eleven herself is still living in secrecy with Hopper but begins to become frustrated with their isolated life.

Finally, the episode ends with Dustin realizing the true nature of Dart and the rest of the group discovering that there are more creatures like it out in the woods. As the threats multiply, the characters are forced to confront the possibility that they may be in over their heads.

Stranger Things has been praised for its gripping storylines, its 80s nostalgia, and its strong performances from its ensemble cast. It has won numerous awards and has become a cultural phenomenon, with an upcoming fourth season that promises to be even more exciting than the last.
