Chapter Eight: The Upside Down

In the eighth episode of Stranger Things season one, Brenner interrogates Hopper and he suggests a deal – location of Eleven in exchange for access to the portal. Dressed in protective suits, Joyce and Hopper enter the portal to the “upside-down” side, where they find a monster’s nest. They then find Will, who is unconscious with a slug-like creature in his stomach. They remove the creature, give Will artificial respiration, and he finally wakes up.

Meanwhile, Nancy and Jonathan set up a trap to catch the demogorgon. Instead, Steve appears with an intention to apologize to Nancy and Jonathan for the morning incident. The demogorgon appears from the wall and attacks Jonathan. Steve manages to fend it off; they all run down the hall where the monster falls into the trap, but it manages to escape and run back to its dimension. Agents and military police surround the children who hide in the school with Eleven. But El, using telekinesis, kills all the agents. Brenner discovers her, but at that time, the demogorgon appears attracted by the blood of the dead. The children try to hide in one of the cabinets, but it finds them. El, using all her strength, immobilizes the demogorgon and says goodbye to Mike, turning into dust with the creature.

A month later, on Christmas Eve, Jonathan comes home to the Byers’ for his little brother, who is playing with his friends. Nancy gives Jonathan a new camera instead of the one he broke; she has made peace with Steve. Hopper leaves a box of waffles, Eleven’s favorite food, in a wooden box in the middle of the forest. Before the Christmas dinner, Will goes to the bathroom, coughing up a small slug into the sink, and the surrounding world momentarily turns into “the upside-down.

Chapter Seven: The Bathtub

In the seventh episode of the first season of “Stranger Things”, Lucas warns his friends on the radio that agents are coming for them. As a result, Mike, Dustin, and Eleven decide to escape through a secret exit, while Lucas joins them. However, they encounter a van that blocks their path. With Eleven’s telekinetic abilities, they flip the van and evade the agents. The group arrives at a junkyard, where Lucas reconciles with Mike and Eleven.

Meanwhile, Joyce and Hopper go to the police station, where Nancy and Jonathan tell them about the monster. They manage to contact Mike and his friends on the radio. Together, they decide to create a sensory deprivation tank for Eleven to enhance her telepathic abilities and find Will and Barb. They use a school swimming pool, filling it with a highly concentrated salt solution to increase the density. Eleven then accesses the “Upside Down”, finds Barb deceased, learns Will’s location, and discovers his hideout, which he built with his brother.

Hopper and Joyce venture to the lab to enter the main portal and save Will. However, they are surrounded by agents. Nancy and Jonathan secretly retrieve their items from the police station and go to the Byers’ house to execute their plan to kill the Demogorgon. Meanwhile, on the “Upside Down”, the Demogorgon attacks Will’s hideout.

Chapter Six: The Monster

In the sixth episode of the first season of “Stranger Things”, Jonathan saves Nancy from a monster in the woods and they both go to Nancy’s house. She asks him to stay because she is afraid of being alone. Steve sees them through the bedroom window. The next morning, Nancy and Jonathan decide to kill the monster, so they buy a trap and bullets at a hunting store. On the way back, Steve attacks them because his friends wrote an insulting message on the cinema marquee. After the fight with Steve, Jonathan is arrested by the police.

Hopper finds a spying device in his home and then goes to Joyce to tell her he believes her stories. Together they go to Terry Ives’ to learn about her missing daughter. They find Terry in a catatonic state. Her sister tells Hopper that Terry was part of a CIA project on mind manipulation and that her daughter was taken by Dr. Brenner just after birth.

Eleven is wandering alone in the woods and remembers how she accidentally opened the portal to the “Upside Down” while performing her task, which allowed the monster to enter the real world. Mike and Dustin are looking for Eleven when they come across bullying Troy and his friend. Troy threatens Dustin with a knife, demanding that Mike jump from a great height into a lake at the bottom of a quarry, where Will’s body was found. Mike jumps, but he stops midair and returns to safety, saved by Eleven. Lucas watches the lab and sees several armed vans leaving the area and heading to Mike’s house.

Chapter Five: The Flea and the Acrobat

In the fifth episode of the first season of Stranger Things, Hopper sneaks into the lab and reaches the lower level using force, where he finds a peculiar passage that the staff manages to sedate him with a syringe. Lonnie, Joyce’s ex-husband, tries to convince her that her visions related to Will are just a hallucination, as his body has already been found. The boys believe that Will is trapped in another dimension, which El calls “the Upside Down,” where a monster – which she named Demogorgon after a creature from Dungeons and Dragons – resides. After the funeral, friends ask Mr. Clarke about parallel dimensions, and he tells them of the hypothetical possibility of existence of portals between spaces.

Hopper wakes up at home and finds a bug, indicating that his house has been visited. Hopper’s assistants tell him that Barb’s car has been found outside the town. The boys try to find a magnetic anomaly associated with the portal using a compass. El remembers how she was placed in a sensory deprivation tank to enhance her telekinetic abilities, and during this experiment, she discovered a strange object. El warns friends about the dangers of the portal and deflects the compass needles to stop them from finding it. Lucas accuses El of betrayal, but Mike defends her, which leads to a fight between him and Lucas. Meanwhile, in the woods, Nancy and Jonathan discover a portal to the Upside Down, where she sees a monster feasting on a wounded deer.

Chapter Four: The Body

In the fourth episode of the first season of “Stranger Things,” Will’s friends, Joyce, and Hopper started to uncover the strange events taking place in town. Using a powerful radio in the physics department, the boys were able to establish contact with Will and heard his voice saying he was scared. At the same time, Joyce, who was in Will’s room, heard his voice coming through the wall. Upon examining the wallpaper, she discovered a strange semi-transparent material with a silhouette of Will behind it. With an ax, she tried to break through the wall but could only make a hole in it.

Meanwhile, Nancy and Jonathan were analyzing a photo of Barb and noticed a mysterious creature lurking in the background. They enlarged the section of the image and saw a human-like figure with long arms and a faceless head that resembled the descriptions Joyce had given.

Hopper, the chief of police, became suspicious and started investigating Will’s disappearance. He discovered that the body found was a well-made mannequin, and decided to explore the laboratory building for more clues. He infiltrated the facility and uncovered some of the organization’s secrets.

Chapter Three: Holly, Jolly

In the third episode of Stranger Things season one, Barb is still trapped in the strange location that resembles an empty swimming pool. She climbs the ladder to escape, but something pulls her back down. Joyce continues to use electric Christmas lights to communicate with Will, who is still stuck in the parallel dimension. Hopper and his team continue their investigation and find a newspaper article about Terry Ives, a woman who claimed that her daughter was taken by scientists right after birth.

Eleven, a telekinetic experiment of Dr. Brenner, recalls her past in the lab and how Brenner, whom she calls “”papa””, ordered her to be locked up for refusing to hurt a cat. Nancy still worries about Barb, and Steve and his friends find photographs taken by Jonathan. They decide to destroy the photos and the camera, but Nancy notices that one of the photos shows Barb sitting next to the swimming pool and decides to go back to Steve’s house. On the way, she discovers Barb’s car parked in its usual spot and sees a creature moving among the trees.

Meanwhile, Joyce continues to draw letters of the alphabet on the wall with Christmas lights. Will contacts her and tells her that he is alive, but in danger. He manages to say only one word, “”run,”” before the strange creature starts to emerge from the wall.

In the end, the state police find Will’s body in a water-filled quarry near the town. It seems that his fate is sealed, but strange events continue to unfold in Hawkins.

Chapter Two: The Weirdo on Maple Street

The group of friends found out that the mysterious girl they had found in the forest was called Eleven, and she had the number 011 tattooed on her arm. They nicknamed her “El” and tried to find out where she came from and what had happened to her. Meanwhile, scientists from the laboratory continued to investigate the area around the Byers’ house, where a boy named Will had disappeared. They found a strange substance on the wall of the shed that sparked more interest in the area.

El found a photo of Will in her new friend Mike’s house, and it became a vital discovery in the search for the missing boy. However, when Dustin and Lucas appeared in the house, El used her psychokinetic powers to prevent them from telling Mike’s parents anything and slammed the door shut.

When Hopper, the town sheriff, began his search for Will, he found a piece of fabric on the overgrown area near the laboratory. It turned out to be a stained hospital shirt belonging to El, which provided a lead in the search for Will.

Will’s brother Jonathan went into the forest to search for his brother, and when he found the spot where the bike was found, he heard screams and saw that Nancy, her friend Barb, and a couple of guys were hanging out by the pool at Steve’s house. Jonathan decided to take some pictures, including a photo of Barb just moments before her disappearance.

At that time, Will’s mother, Joyce, received another phone call from her missing son. Additionally, the sound of a tape from Will’s room came through the phone line, and when she approached the wall, she saw a strange creature emerging from it, which frightened her even more.

After Benny learns that the woman has no identification, he tries to help the child and calls the police, but later he is killed by the woman. Benny’s death forces National Security agents to begin searching for the girl, but she finds salvation and escapes.

Meanwhile, Will’s best friends, Lucas, Mike, and Dustin, begin to search for him in the woods and meet the girl.
